Tomatis Therapy
Tomatis® Therapy
A listening programme that uses music and voice to train the way the brain processes sound. It supports language, attention, learning and emotional regulation, at any age.
How it works
The ear is one of the most important “gateways” through which the brain receives information. The Tomatis® Method uses music (for example Mozart or Gregorian chant) and voice, processed in real time by a special device, to train the brain to detect and analyse sounds better. The child or adult simply listens – there is nothing they need to “do”.
The “see-saw” effect (Gating®)
The music alternates between two channels with different timbres. These unexpected contrasts “wake up” the brain and train it to notice changes and select important information.
Air and bone conduction
The headphones transmit sound both through the air and through the vibration of the skull bones. This naturally prepares the auditory system to receive and analyse the sound message correctly.
Auditory laterality
The programme can strengthen the right ear as the “leading” ear, making language processing faster and more efficient.
The Tomatis® Method is a complementary approach: it can be used on its own or together with speech therapy, psychotherapy or neurofeedback.

How the programme works
Assessment and listening test
We talk about what brings you to us and do a listening test that shows how the ear and brain process sound.
Personalised programme
We set up a listening programme suited to your age and goals.
Intensive phases
A phase usually lasts about 14 days, with daily sessions of 40–60 minutes.
Integration breaks
Between phases we take breaks of a few weeks, during which the brain integrates the progress. A full programme usually has 3 phases.

Good to know
Why are breaks between phases necessary?
Intensive listening strongly stimulates the brain. The breaks prevent overload and allow the changes to consolidate – progress often continues during the break.
When do the first changes appear?
It varies from person to person. Some parents notice changes during the first phase, others after the second or third. We assess progress along the way and adjust the programme.
Can there be reactions during the programme?
Sometimes, especially in children, there may be fatigue, restlessness or stronger emotions in the first few days. These are signs that the nervous system is working and usually pass quickly. Tell us what you notice and we’ll adapt the programme.
Can it be combined with other therapies?
Yes. Tomatis Therapy complements speech therapy, psychotherapy and neurofeedback.
Would you like to find out whether Tomatis Therapy is right for you or your child?
Book an assessment and we’ll take it from there. We work in Cluj-Napoca and Alba Iulia.
