Objective ADHD assessment, using eye movements

Alongside the clinical interview and standardised questionnaires, we use BrainGaze – a computer-based test that analyses involuntary eye movements. The result: a clearer assessment for children, teenagers and adults.

About the technology

What is BrainGaze

BrainGaze started as a University of Barcelona project and is now used in clinics across Europe. Our eyes make small, involuntary movements when we focus – and in people with ADHD these patterns look different. The test measures them with an eye-tracking sensor, without the patient having to “perform” or know what is being observed.

Objective

Measurable markers

In addition to what the patient and family tell us, we get objective data about attention that does not depend on how well someone describes themselves.

Friendly

Like a computer game

The patient looks at a screen and follows simple visual tasks. It does not hurt, nothing is attached to the body, and children usually go through it calmly.

Complete

Several perspectives

Questionnaires also go to parents, teachers or partners, because ADHD shows up in many areas of life, not just in the consulting room.

Clear

An easy-to-understand report

Results are presented visually, which helps us explain the conclusions clearly to the patient and their family.

BrainGaze is a diagnostic support tool. The final conclusion is made by the specialist, based on all the information: the test, the clinical interview, history and questionnaires.

Step by step

How the assessment works

Booking and first conversation

You tell us what worries you and together we decide which type of assessment is right.

Questionnaires

The patient and people close to them (parents, teachers, partner) complete standardised questionnaires.

The BrainGaze test

About 12 minutes in front of a screen, with simple visual tasks, at the clinic.

Interview, report and recommendations

We discuss the results, you receive the report and a concrete plan for the next steps.

For adults

I think I may have ADHD

Many adults only find out late that their difficulties have a name. ADHD is not a lack of willpower – and a clear diagnosis can bring much more kindness towards yourself and solutions that actually work.

Common signs

Does this sound familiar?

  • you find it hard to focus or to finish things
  • you often procrastinate, even on important tasks
  • you forget things, appointments or where you put objects
  • you feel inner restlessness or make impulsive decisions
  • you feel overwhelmed by organising everyday life
What you get

At the end of the assessment

  • a clear conclusion, explained in plain words
  • a written report with the test results
  • personalised recommendations: psychotherapy, neurofeedback or a psychiatric consultation, as needed
For parents

I think my child may have ADHD

An inattentive or very energetic child does not necessarily have ADHD – and a quiet one might. The assessment helps you understand what is really going on and how you can support your child at home and at school.

Common signs

What you may notice at home or at school

  • gets distracted easily and does not finish homework or games
  • seems not to listen when spoken to
  • fidgets, cannot sit still, talks a lot
  • interrupts, cannot wait their turn
  • teachers report attention or behaviour difficulties
How to prepare

Before the assessment

  • tell your child they will play a few “games” on a computer
  • make sure they sleep well the night before
  • if they wear glasses, bring them along
  • if they take medication, ask us first – do not stop it without the doctor’s approval

Alongside the assessment, we offer parent counselling, so you know exactly what you can do from day one.

For professionals

Do you work with people who may have ADHD?

Psychologists, psychiatrists, GPs, paediatricians, school counsellors: you can refer patients to us for the BrainGaze assessment. With the patient’s consent, we send you the report so you can include the results in the treatment plan you coordinate.

After the assessment

Support, not just a diagnosis

Therapy

Trauma-informed psychotherapy

For the emotions, self-esteem and relationships affected by years of “you’re not trying hard enough”.

Training

Neurofeedback

A non-invasive training through which the brain learns to regulate attention and arousal.

Family

Parent counselling

Concrete strategies for routines, homework and tense moments at home.

Medical

Psychiatry

When needed, a psychiatric consultation to discuss treatment options.

FAQ

What patients often ask us

Does the test hurt or is it invasive?

No. The patient just looks at a screen. No sensors are attached to the body and no substances are used.

Does a machine make the diagnosis?

No. BrainGaze provides objective data, but the conclusion is made by the specialist, combining the test with the clinical interview, history and questionnaires.

From what age can the assessment be done?

We assess children, teenagers and adults. When you book, we will tell you which option suits your age and situation.

Do I need to stop medication beforehand?

Do not stop any medication without your doctor’s approval. Tell us when booking what treatment you follow and we will guide you.
